SINCE 2014, LiteraSee has been dedicated to helping kindergarten through eighth-grade children overcome their reading struggles by ensuring that busy teachers, tutors, and homeschool parents could access science-based Orton-Gillingham (O-G) resources that were low-cost, highly effective, and user-friendly.
WHAT SETS LITERASEE APART is its unwavering commitment to simplifying the teaching process of reading and spelling by creating effective, streamlined lesson plans and uncomplicated teaching tools.
WHO CAN TEACH? Although Orton-Gillingham training would be beneficial, a dedicated person with good phonemic awareness and reading ability can teach with LiteraSee's predictable ten-step lesson sequence, illustrated instructions, and video tutorials.
WHAT MAKES LITERASEE SPECIAL? The LiteraSee learning platform is unique and engaging, with many creative spelling strategies and memorable illustrated concept cards (vowel team storyboards, practice games, and English Origin graphics are also available).
BASED ON THE ORTON-GILLINGHAM APPROACH, LiteraSee explicitly and systematically teaches literacy concepts through multisensory learning, focusing on phonics, syllable division/syllable types, and the study of morphology.
LESSONS ARE TAUGHT IN ORDER OF COMPLEXITY and occurrence, with early lessons on syllable division and types enabling students to tackle multisyllabic words with predictable vowel sounds. While the lessons are structured, flexibility is encouraged to tailor the needs of any aged child beginning at Level One.
WITH LITERASEE CONCEPTS ILLUSTRATED MATERIALS AND YOUR ENTHUSIASTIC APPROACH to teaching, you can successfully remediate a child's reading struggles and give them pride and the lifelong gift of loving to read and learn.
As an advocate for struggling readers, Mica Drummond founded LiteraSee Concepts Illustrated out of a deep passion for helping children struggling with dyslexia, as she and her children did for many years.
With her International Multi-Sensory Language Education Council (IMSLEC) certification from a Children's Dyslexia Center, a decade of experience teaching children with dyslexia, and a background in management and design, she created a unified collection of literacy concept cards to assist her students in making visual connections to abstract literacy concepts. Mica's vibrant and engaging concept cards led to an unexpected benefit: her students' engagement and confidence transformed as each card was added to their trifold board, AKA "Wall of Achievement."
Over the years, Mica added many other supportive resources as she continued to learn and create based on her students' needs. The coordinated lesson plans were designed for maximum efficiency and effectiveness, utilizing every minute of the day's lesson. Later, many other informative visual aids, such as the English Language Origins Pack and quick practice blending or spelling choice games, were included to foster interest and enhance learning during every O-G lesson.
"At the heart of LiteraSee Concepts Illustrated's mission is to teach dyslexic children and support those devoted to their education."
